CyberSwing
A downloadable game
CyberSwing is a first person platformer inspired by movement games such as Ghostrunner and GTTOD. Use your wallrun and cyberhook to swing through levels and get record time!
I sincerely would love to make more levels for this game, time got the best of me :(. This might be the springboard for a larger project in the future, as I really polished the mechanics.
Current Changes for MI455 Project 1:
- Changed to a First Person Platformer. Much of the character controller was based off of a github repo: https://github.com/Plai-Dev/rigidbody-fps-controller-tutorial/, and the First Person All-in-one Open Source contoller (https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/tools/input-management/first-person-all-in...) However, I significantly improved the wallruning physics to stop severe friction issues.
- Added new textures to walls and floor with a shader graph (largely a process of experimenting with Unity's shader graph)
- Added grapple hook mechanic, including crosshair and worldspace UI (DOTween asset was used for smooth UI animations)
For grading purposes, I would want to combine UI additions and environment changes as a single change.

I like the aesthetic and the effort put into the mechanics really shows. The two critiques I have are that 1. Looking around is really fast, sometimes it feels out of control and 2. The Levels aren't fleshed out (I understand the time constraint is the reason for this)
